Today started off as a pretty good day. I woke up, had some breakfast, had my shower and was out the door by 8:10am. I got there at 9 and Jeremy was surprisingly already there and ready to go. So I filled out my water bottle, and we got started. First I had to do lunges 12 times on each leg, then with 7.5 lb dumbells do 12 lunges on each leg while doing a a bicep curl. Once I finished that, I was told to do 12 squats with a 12.5 lb dumbell and then while standing up raise the dumbell over my head alternating with each arm. I had to do this a total of 3 times and then we went on to do 12 pushups, and then with the 7.5 lb dumbells raise them over my head 3 times, go down the stairs, raise them 3 times again and repeat 3 times. It didn't actually feel like we did a lot of different exercises today, just more than usual for each one.
It was a good session, and I am excited to see what happens on the next one. Jeremy has classes on Thursday and Friday so, unfortunately we only have the one session this week. I told him that the only way I could do Wednesday is if he was willing to come in at 7am. In which case, I would have to be up pretty darn early lol. He is going to text me either later today or tomorrow to let me know. Other than that, my homework is to do an hour of cardio everyday and stretches per normal. I may just go back to the gym this evening, I don't know yet.

Day 138 - Weigh in
Weigh in day again, hmmm. I don't know really how I should be feeling today. Due to the fact that Friday wasn't a really good day for me emotionally, and then being really excited about my measurements, I decided to do a little bit of celebrating in the evening.
Jan and I had decided that neither one of us wanted to cook, and although it probably wasn't the best choice for supper, we broke down and ordered pizza. I guess once in awhile it's not too bad, however, the bad habits didn't stop there. After supper we sat down to watch A White Christmas. This is something that I do every year in memory of my mom and Jan was nice enough to share that with me. I got thirsty so I decided to make myself a glass of rye and coke. Yum, went down good. Made a second glass and polished off the bottle.
At this point I really didn't care anymore about the weight loss. I still care but I thought, I'm not going to deny myself the pleasure of a couple drinks once in a blue moon if I want them. So, I continued the celebration and cracked open a bottle of wine, got on the computer and started messing around. Pretty soon I had finished the whole bottle of wine without realizing it. UH OH!
I figured I should probably get to bed because otherwise I would really be in trouble and didn't want to do that. So, away I went.
Yesterday I had a bit of running around that I had to do. I had to go and get an itunes card so I could download some music for something that I am working on for Matt and Nikki's christmas present and I also had to go to the book store and pick up a book that Jeremy recommended I buy and read as part of my homework. Nikki wound up coming with me and we wound up staying out and about for 3 hours and then went back to her place. We realized that it was getting to be supper time so she invited me to stay for supper and we had pasta with a meat sauce. It was very good, but probably not the best choice for me. Oh well, celebration weekend! :)
Once we finished supper, Matt and I decided to bring the car back for Jan and then he drove me back to their house for a night of board games. Matt brought out the chips and I was doomed! So to top the night off I had some of those as well and I didn't get to bed until at least 4 in the morning. LOL
I got up this morning at 8:30am, feeling pretty terrible because of the bad weekend I had and then on top of eating and drinking so badly, I didn't even get my workout in. I had to run over to the store to get some veggies so that I could make my supper for tonight and then by the time I got back here it was 11am. By the time I was actually ready to go out, it was 12:30pm. Considering the fact that it takes half an hour to walk there and a half hour to walk back, plus I have to make my lunch still, there really isn't much point to go now.
I have decided that I am going to do some step ups for a half an hour today, and maybe try and get stretches done. At least if I can do an hour today at home, it may not be interval cardio, but at least I can get that done. Tomorrow morning I will make sure to do the half hour of cardio before my session.
So for all of the bad stuff that happened this weekend, I got on the scale expecting to maybe put on about 5 lbs. However, as I opened my eyes, it said that I am at 229 lbs. So, it looks like I lost another pound. That's not too bad. Next week I am hoping to be really good and aim for a much higher number. Due to the fact that Jeremy has a few managerial duties he needs to do, it looks like we only have the one session this week. So this means that I will have to make sure to go everyday and give it my all!

136 - Measurements
I was in a fairly decent mood today when I got up, ya I am missing mom but, not as moody as I normally am at this time of year. I didn't sleep very good because I was excited and kind of nervous to go into my session today. I didn't know what to expect and wasn't sure of the measurements. I went to walmart, picked up the pictures I had ordered, and carried on to my session.
I was on the treadmill for 7 minutes when Jeremy came to ask if I was ready to do my measurements. I told him I guess so, he chuckled, and away we went. Since July 11, I have lost the following in cm:
Neck 4
Glutes 16
Shoulders 4
Right thigh 21
Abdomen 1 19
Abdomen 2 19
For a total of 83 cm lost!!! That's 32.7 inches! Wow! Since I have done so well, Jeremy of course had to stop a bunch of people throughout our workout and share with them how well I'm doing. It was very comforting to know that he was so proud but, at the same time, it's kind of embarrassing as well. However, I am very proud of myself.
Jeremy then said that we were going to try a new machine today. OOOH! How exciting! First he had me go over to the bench like structure where one side has a bench and a bar hanging above it. While sitting on the bench I had to pull the bar down towards me lifting 75 lb weights. Then we went over to the treadmill and I had to do an 11 incline and 3.2 speed for a few min and then we went to the chin up/dip assist machine. Here I had to do 12 assisted chin ups and 12 assisted dips and then do a wall sit. I repeated this 2 more times and then I had to do walking lunges across the gym to the seated rows.
Jeremy then walked over and grabbed 2 of the 17.5lb dumbells while I did 12 of the seated rows and then I had to go down the stairs while he walked beside me and then on the way up, carry the 17.5lb dumbells with me. This was to show me how much weight I had lost from the very first time I went into the gym. Back to the seated rows 12 times and then this time I had to carry the dumbells down the stairs and back up and then go down and up the stairs once more without. One more time on the seated rows and then I got to go down and up the stairs 3 more times without carrying anything.
All in all it was a great workout and I am very pleased with everything that happened. I have attached the picture that Jan and I took last night so you can see the progress. As for the total weight loss, you will have to wait until sunday morning for the results as it is weigh in day officially. Have a great evening everyone!

Day 134
Well, it looks like my homework is now complete, with the exeption of my stretches amd core that I need to do daily that is. I woke up this morning to a terrible start. I was in so much pain in the back, knees and feet that I felt like going through all this change wasn't worth it. I wanted to give up everything and go back to my old lifestyle and just crawl in a hole and stay there. But, I quickly changed my way of thinking and referred back to my list of things that I was thankful for and love and decided that maybe I just have to endure this pain just a little bit longer to get to where I need to be in order to have this pain gone.
So, I got showered and dressed for work, made my lunch and headed out the door. I was half way to work when I realized that I had forgotten something at home so I had to turn around and go back and then I was late for work. I got there and Mike (my boss) met me at the door and he was like, guess what? You don't start until 4. What? Really? Now what am I gonna do??? So, I headed to the gym.
Judy (my coworker) was nice enough to give me a ride to the gym so when I got there, I got changed and headed upstairs to the treadmill. I did half an hour there and thought, well, maybe I'll go to the ladies only room and do the eliptical for a little bit. So I walked over, looked at it, and decided maybe I'll just go home.
I went back downstairs to the lockers, grabbed a piece of gum, and thought, no, I'm not quite ready yet. I went back upstairs, got on the bike and did 15 min there. I wound up burning about 300 calories today between the 2 of them. Once I was done on the bike, I then got changed and headed over to Esso where I stayed and had a coffee for about an hour. It was nice to be able to just sit there and relax, not have to worry about rushing anywhere. Then I headed towards home, got to the bus stop and took the bus home. Now it is 3:30 and I am ready to go to work. My stretches and core homework will be completed tonight and then tomorrow I am going to the gym once again, after work this time, and then I will finish the day off with more stretches and core. So tomorrow my blog will be posted a little late, probably around 9 or even as late as 10. I hope everyone has a magnificent evening! :)

Day 133 - Session
I woke up this morning in the worst possible mood at 6:30am. I was going to go with Jan to work and just walk over from the LRT but, I was in no mood to do any walking at that point and time in the morning. So, I just opted to have an extra long shower, have my breakfast, and take the bus. However, as I was walking to the bus stop, I missed the darn thing! So, at this point, I was freezing cold, grumpy and running late for my session. Marvelous!
I finally got to my session with 10 min to spare and I was still really grumpy and made sure to let Jeremy know about it. He asked me why I was so grumpy and I said that I was trying to quit my stupid smoking. We went into the ladies only section where I had to do a bunch of strength exercises. I don't remember all of the machines and not sure what they are called but I do know that it felt good as we continued on. I was starting to feel a little bit better at this point and we did a few squats and some more strength exercises and then headed downstairs to do some more strength exercises.
I notified Jeremy at this point with 10 minutes left of our session that last night was pretty bad in regards to the eating and that my homework wasn't really a hundred percent complete. We went back upstairs where I was to do my cool down and wait for him to decide my fate on my homework. I did the treadmill for 5 min and then went back to his office. My homework was to do 2 1/2 hours of cardio, 10 min of core every day and 15 min of stretching every day until Friday's session at 10 am.
Really? 2 1/2 hours cardio? That's just plain mean. So, I decided to walk over to Matt and Nikki's place to see Sophia and it took me an hour to get there. Ha! Take that Jeremy! My homework will be complete today!!! I sent off a text to him to let him know that and I'm pretty sure he'll come back with doing more. So at this point I just might as well just aim for 5 hours of cardio and call it my punishment! LOL
On Friday I wasn't going to take a session but, I opted to go in at 10 am and we are doing measurements. Once those are done, I have asked Jeremy to give me a high intensity workout for the remainder of our time so that I don't have to think about anything but the workout. We will see how it goes.
More tomorrow!

Day 132 - Weigh in
I am feeling a little on the overwhelmed side today. I am sitting here crying because I am so happy about the accomplishments that I have made so far. Not only that, but I am missing my family more and more each day and I know that I could go and see them whenever I want but, at the same time, I don't really have the time to be going anywhere. My life has gotten so busy and I don't like it one bit. I like to be able to sit here and read a book if I want or talk on the phone with the loved ones, or run out for coffee with a friend whenever I want.
I guess that's the price you pay for choices you make in your life in regards to your health. Health first, hard work next, and then the pleasures of life can follow. All of this emotion was set off a little while ago due to the fact that I phoned my dad to talk to him and share the news of my weigh in. I am so very proud of myself and I knew that he would give me the excitement that helps to keep me motivated and keep me in tact. I was not disappointed in the least.
I have also made a decision in the last month to better enhance my financial situation and therefore, I made a decision to quit Esso, although I love the job and the customers, and the people I work with, I just can't afford to do any of the things I love to do. It's slowly tearing me apart and I am afraid that if I don't do something about it, I won't last much longer and give up. So, I got an offer to go back to McDonald's as a Swing Manager once again, with a 2.50 pay increase from what I am making now, and also my weekends off. This is particularly the deal breaker for me because I am then free on the weekends to do whatever I want. I am able to go and see my dad, I am able to go and see the family, and I am able to see my friends as well. Not only does it give me my life back, but it also gives me the chance for benefits as well so that I may continue to strive for the things that need to be taken care of like my teeth, eyes, and any medical that may arise. Hopefully not, but in case it does then I am prepared.
This is not going to be a lifelong career, I do have plans in place for something else, but, for the time being until I can get everything else worked out that needs to be worked out, this will do. I enjoyed my job as a Manager as well and look forward to going back.
Today's workout was decent, probably not as effective as going to the gym, but however, it was still good in my eyes. I did 15 min of step ups to the beat of my music, walking lunges from the living room to the kitchen and back, side lateral step outs with a twist with my 5 lb medicine ball, and then up and down the stairs three times. In total, was probably only a half hour of workout time but, I didn't feel too good this morning so I will be sure to try and at least do some more when I get home from work.
My weigh in this morning was ok, I'm pretty sure I am at 227 or 228 but, as I am feeling a little on icky side due to mother nature, and quite possibly retaining water, the scale said that I was 230. So that means I have gone down from last week 1.5 lbs. I have not quite got the smoking licked, I have definitely reduced it drastically but, I thought that it would be alot easier if I quit going into my days off as I don't have any stress at home and the accessibility isn't there. Once the first 2 days are done, it should be easy street from there. So Monday evening will be the official day 1 of my no smoking saga.
Total weight loss to date is -34 lbs :) :)

Day 130 - Session
I am having such a fantastic day today! I woke up feeling a little on the tired side as I have been trying to get a few things sorted out in my life to better enhance my future and was up fairly late last night as a result of it. However, once I got to the gym and started my session, it turned out to be the start of a pretty amazing day!
I started off on the treadmill for 5 min for my warm up and then went to meet up with Jeremy at the pulley ropes. I was told to do straight arm rope pull downs 12 - 15 times and then step ups. I did this 3 times and then moved across the way to the bench where I had to sit on the bench and using both hands while holding a 10 lb medicine ball, do seated trunk rotations and then stand up and bring the ball above my head about 12 to 15 times. From there I had to do side lateral step outs with a twist using the medicine ball and then down and up the stairs 2 times.
I had to repeat this a second time and as I did the stairs again, Jeremy did it with me. Then I did the seated rows with 45lb weights, did the walking lunge across the gym to the TRX ropes, did rowing pull ups and then made my way back doing the walking lunges again. I did the seated rows once more, this time with 60 lb weights and then went back to the treadmill for my cool down.
My homework for the weekend is to do 10 min of core and 15 min of stretches every day and at least an 1 3/4 of cardio. I will have to see if I can get this done as I won't be able to get to the gym tomorrow, however, I should be able to do step ups here at home. My next session is Monday at 9am, and I am hoping that it is just as good as today. We had a lot of fun talking, laughing and joking around today! Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to get a good workout in at home here and the blog will be posted later in the evening.
