Day 169 - Session

Well, this morning was a pretty jumpy start once again.  I rolled out of bed at 9am and almost didn't make it into my session today.  My back was so sore and my legs as well were a little tender.  I decided that maybe I would just wait a little bit and see how I felt.  I had my breakfast, went upstairs, and by the time I had my shower I was a little bit better.  I figured I had better let Jeremy know that I was pretty sore this morning to see what he could do for me.

At 10:15 I finally made my way to the gym and got on the treadmill to do my warm up.  Jeremy came and got me and then asked me why I was so happy this morning.  I told him that I have been having a really good time at the new job and that I was just generally happy.

We started out doing 12 bench presses with the 10 lb dumbells and then I had to do 10 bicep curls while standing on one leg.  For someone that has no balance control it took me some time to complete this task but, I did it.  He had me do the stairs three times and then come back for another round.  He then went over and got a mat and we did a couple of stretches.  He had me lay on the floor and then he took my right knee and pulled it over the left leg while holding my shoulders to the floor.  After he did the other side he lifted my one foot straight up to stretch the hamstring and pushed into me and then while holding that he had me bend my knee slightly to help with the lower back as well.  He then had me go for a little walk and we did some weight lifting and then alternate dumbell lifts.  I then had to do the stairs 3 more times and then we did some shoulder stretches and calf stretches.  Maybe there were a few other things in there too but, as it is so late, I just can't remember what it was that we did.

For my cool down I wound up walking to the bus and when it didn't come in 10 min I just continued on my walk home.  I also walked to work today as well so I have already accomplished 1 hour of my 2 hour homework.  Yay me!  I was also told that I must do at least 10 min of core every day until our session Monday at 10am.  Before I go to bed I am planning on doing my core and also at least 5 of the 8 stretches that Jeremy has taught me.  Hopefully it will make me feel good before bed as I am in a little bit of pain at the moment from work.

I will be going to the gym tomorrow for a little bit and then when I get home, relaxation time until Sunday morning.  :)

Day 168

It turned out to be a really good day, even though it started off a little rough. I didn't get out of bed until 10am and the only reason why was because my back was hurting so bad that I just wanted to lay there and stay in bed all day. However, I got up, had my breakfast, had my shower and headed to the gym for 1pm.

Once I got there I went straight upstairs and into the ladies only section. I really didn't want to be around anyone and I just wanted to zone out and get it done so that I could come home. I did the eliptical for 15 min, and then went over to the treadmill and did that for 30 min. Ok so I didn't get my full hour in today but, at least I got 45 min in. As soon as I got home I had enough time to basically relax before work and then I started out the door to walk. I made it to the end of the driveway and had to turn around and come back. The sidewalks were so slippery that even my boots wouldn't have carried me properly to work. I was a little on the scared side to walk for fear of falling and hurting myself that I came back inside and asked Jan to give me a ride.

Once I finished work tonight I did do my stretches, I did about 5 different ones and they seemed to help the back out a little bit so, hopefully tomorrow I am going to be ok for my session. I may just do some more stretches before I go to see if it helps any with the session. I have already asked Jeremy not to do too much in the way of leg exercises because my legs are really hurting today as well as my feet. Who knows? I may just regret asking. :) Blog will be posted tomorrow earlier. Sorry to those that were waiting to read.

Day 167 - Session

I have been having a really good day today considering the fact that when I woke up this morning I was in a bit of pain in the back once again.  I was up at 10am, ate, showered and was out the door by 11am.  I walked to the gym and was ready to go by 12 and I was definitely not dissappointed in my workout.

Jeremy came and got me from the treadmill and we started right away.  He had me take a 2lb ball, do a squat with it lowered between my legs and then raise it above my head fifteen times with each arm and then I had to do step ups 15 times on each leg.  I repeated this a second time but the next time was with a 12.5 lb dumbell instead and then he moved one of the exercise equipment and I had to put my foot on there and then push into it.  It's kind of hard to explain but, it stretched out the lower back a little and helped work out a little bit of the pain.  We did another stretch that I had to hold the handle of a different machine and then reaching across my body above my head with the other arm grab ahold of the side of the machine and stretch there as well on each arm.

From there, we went over towards the stairs and I had to do 10 pushups, 20 ab crunches and hold the plank for about 25 seconds.  I got to then do the stairs 2 times and repeat the pushups ab crunches and plank.  3 more times down and up the stairs and then we did some new stretches for the back.

The first one we did is one that I have done before.  With my foot basically flat against the inner thigh, I had to lean forward and hold it for about a min and then he had me sit with both legs stretched out and slightly bent with my feet pointing straight up, reach towards my toes.  He pushed on my shoulders gently and stretched out the back some more.  He then had me push back against his hands and that made if feel really good too.

When we finished those, he showed me the new stretches and they are kind of difficult to explain but I will try my best.  With my left hand I had to grab the outside of my right foot and then slowly push my foot out to help with the stretch.  At this point I made him laugh because I had told him that I couldn't grab my foot because my fat was in the way lol.

I repeated with the other foot and then I had to cross my right leg over my left leg and then with my right elbow on my raised knee, push and twist my back to look at the back wall.  I had to repeat with the other leg and then I was lucky enough to do another 2 times on the stairs.  Yay!  More stairs!  He informed me that it was my cool down and that he would see me Friday at 11am.

For my homework, I have to do of course, my stretches every day and I also must do 1 hour of cardio.  Boy did I miss him!  LOL  Anyways, it should be easy enough because I plan to go to the gym once again tomorrow morning before I have to work and since I am working on my feet all night, my back is so sore that I have to do stretches when I get home.  So, it works out for me.  :)  More tomorrow!

Day 166

It really is nice to have Christmas over and done with.  I am starting to get back into the groove of going to the gym and loving it completely.  I slept really good last night, going to bed at 9:30pm and getting up at about 8:30am.  I noticed this morning that my feel weren't quite as sore as they normally are but the back is where all the aches and pains are today.

I came downstairs, had my breakfast, and went back upstairs to have my shower and get ready.  I was on my way to the gym today and nothing was going to stop me.  I had planned to go yesterday but, after I had finished with my stretches I really didn't feel up to it.  So, I went to my Aunt Cher's place in Devon instead for a visit with Jan.

I pulled into the parking lot this morning and oh my was it full.  Seems like everyone had the same idea as me this morning!  I got into the locker room, put my stuff away and headed upstairs.  I started off on the treadmill for 5 min at a 0 incline and a 2.4 speed and then upped the speed to a 2.7 and the incline up to a 2.5.  I continued on for another 5 min and then increased the speed to a 3 and the incline up to a 4.5.  5 min more and I increased the incline one more time to a 6 and then finished off the last 10 min on a 3.2 speed.  I did the cool down for 5 min and then made my way over to the ladies only room.

I wound up only doing the eliptical for 10 min because I was wearing my new shoes today and although I had no pain in the bottom of my feet, my back was really bothering me.  So I decided that maybe I should come home and do some stretches.  Maybe before I go to the gym I should get them done because then I might actually be good for the rest of the day.

So I went over to Safeway, picked up a few groceries and then stopped at Timmie's on the way home.  I grabbed myself a coffee, Jan a tea and then once I had finished, got down on the floor to get my stretches done.  I don't know what it is with cats but, as soon as I lay that yoga mat out on the floor, they seem to think that they are doing me a huge favor by sitting on it before I can even get down on the floor.  And then when I am down there trying to do my stretches, they seem to think that it's play time.  Boy have they got it wrong!

So I did quite a few stretches and now my back is semi ok, but still not really good.  Maybe when I get home from work I can do some more and try to get some ab crunches and maybe the plank in before bed.  When I get up tomorrow morning I will have to do them again so that I am good for whatever Mr. Jeremy has in store for me tomorrow.  Our session is at 12 so hopefully he won't be too hard on me.  As I am walking to and from work today and also walking to and from the gym tomorrow I will have hit my 3 hours cardio projection.  I think Jeremy needs to get a little bit more realistic in his homework distribution.  Especially when it comes to the holidays!  :)

Day 164 - Workout, Session, Weigh in Combined

As it is the Christmas season, I guess the blog has been kind of forgotten about.  I will have to try and remember everything that has happened since last Tuesday, so I may be going back and forth a bit.  I will try my best though to do a good recap.

Wednesday I was hoping to get into the gym for a workout in the mornning but, unfortunately it didn't quite work out as well as planned.  I didn't get any stretches done either which started to bring me down a little bit.  I started to get a little on the emotional side with the combination of losing control of my ambition and a few other things, and just didn't plain care at all on Wednesday.

On Thursday, I babysat Sophia for 3 hours and then managed to get myself to the gym for the afternoon.  I got there around 2 pm and did the treadmill for 15 min.  My feet were still pretty sore so I decided to try the eliptical for a little bit and did 10 min there.  I finished 20 min on the bike and then walked over to work which took about 15 min.  I put in an hour total and when I got home from my shift I wound up going straight to bed because by that time I was completely dissinterested in anything at all.  I had been crying most of the day for reasons I do not wish to disclose at this time and just wanted to go to bed.

Friday morning I got up at 6am to give Jan a ride to the LRT and went in to my session for 9.  I was still pretty emotional and frustrated with some people, missing my mom and just overall did not want to do anything but go home.  I went inside, went up to the treadmill and did a warmup for 12 min.  I went over to Jeremy's office and said hello, went to the washroom and we got started.

Jeremy had noticed that I wasn't in high spirits on Friday and he asked me if I wanted to talk about it and I said no, I just wanted to know about his trip.  So we wound up talking about that as we went on in our session and about half way through, he asked me again if I wanted to talk and I said, not here with all of these people around.  So we did finally wind up talking at the end of the session and I felt way better releasing the built up frustrations and so on.  He gave me a big hug and told me to stay positive and that if I needed to talk, he was only a text away.  He's a very good listener and I am so thankful to him for that because I do have issues that I need to resolve, and I just can't seem to bring myself to do it... yet.

Anyhow, for our session he started me on doing step ups, about 12 on each leg and then I had to do the trunk pulls on the pulley rope about 12 times on each arm and then he said because the stairs always put a big smile on my face, that I should do the stairs 2 times.  When I got back, I did the step ups again but this time, on the step up, had to do a pull each time I reached the top of the step up.  I did this 12 times and repeated the stairs.

From there, we went over to the chin up and dip assist machine and did those 12 times, and then did rowing pulls on the TRX ropes 12 times and then repeated this one more time.  I then had to do the stairs 3 more times and then repeat the chin ups and dips, and TRX ropes one more time.  I went up and down the stairs 2 times and we finished off with a couple of stretches on the railing.

Friday night when I finished work, I did not do my stretches because I had to be up early in the morning once again because I was heading out to Leduc to visit with Blaine, Patty, Grant, Carmen, Dayton and Donovan.  I had a very nice time seeing them again and it looked like the boys enjoyed the presents that I bought them.  I received a $25 Tim Horton's card from Grant and Carmen, a homemade card and Christmas ornament from the boys, a shirt and a healthy cookbook from Blaine and Patty and I received something from my Aunt Dawn that was really nice.

I have to tell a little story about that because it was really sweet.  Apparently my Aunt had given everyone else a nut and candy tray for Christmas and she didn't want me to think that she was trying to sabatoge my weight loss progress so instead, she made up a homemade trail mix for me.  It is very good and filled with all sorts of goodies like dried banana chips, kiwi, a couple nuts and some other stuff in it.  I thought it was so cool and extremely thoughtful.  I just really appreciated that!  Thanks Aunty for thinking of me!  :)

Now onto today.  This morning Jan woke me up at 9:30am which is the longest I've been able to sleep in this past week and it felt so good that even though it was Christmas, I just wanted to sleep.  However, I got up, came downstairs, grabbed a coffee and settled down in my chair to wake up and enjoy the coffee and prepare to open the gifts.

Jan got me a beautiful bracelet, an awesome Wolf throw blanket, new workout shoes and a new shirt!  It was so awesome!  I wound up wearing the work out shoes to break them in tonight and the bracelet out to Alberta Beach.  Shawn and Merv came over around 1 pm and I got a $25 gift card from Reitman's from Shawn, and a $25 visa gift card from Merv.  Yay!  Clothes shopping, here I come in July!

We all headed to Alberta Beach to Charlie`s house where I got another Tim Horton`s card from Charlie and we had a very nice meal and visit.  Mostly we picked on poor Shawn but, it`s all in good fun and we all really do love him alot.

I did not do a weigh in this morning because it is Christmas day and when I stepped on the scale on Friday for kicks, it hadn't changed at all since last weigh in.  Next week I will be sure to post.  However, as I was getting ready to go out to Charlie's tonight, I tried on the XL shirt that jan bought me and even though I got it on, I still have about another 1/2 an inch to go for it to actually look decent.  I also tried on the 1x shirt that Blaine and Patty bought me and that one fit a little bit better but again, just a little bit more needs to be lost before it looks nice.  I also decided to try on a pair of pants that my Aunt Lori had given me back in Septemeber.  They are a size 20 and 2 weeks ago when I tried them on I couldn't quite get the zipper done up.  This morning when I tried them on, I was able to get that zipper up!  And I didn't even have to suck it in!  So it is official, I have gone from a 4x pants, to a size 20 and for shirts, I have gone from a 3x shirt, to a 1x!

I do feel really good health wise, don't get me wrong.  But I think the reason why I have been so emotional in the last week is due to the fact that I am starting to figure out where and why I started to gain the weight.  And because of that, I am starting to address the problems and trying to figure out how to talk to those that may have had an impact on my life wether it was intentional or not.  Good or bad.  So this is where all of the emotional stuff is starting to play in and it is in this part that I was terrified to come to.  But, I will be just fine because I am a fighter and I am a strong spirited and determind individual.  Merry Christmas to everyone!  I know for the first time since my mom has passed on, I can honestly say that I had a great Christmas!

Day 159

I am not really sure what is wrong with me lately. In the last week I have lost my ambition, and drive for what I want in life.  However, I still keep plugging along because I know it needs to be done.  Last night before bed I did manage to get my stretches done.  Mind you, I really had no choice to but to do it.

I had a good shift last night and everything went well.  When I got home though, my back was so sore, my feet were killing me, and I had to get those stretches done.  I laid down on the yoga mat and tears literally came to my eyes.  I was barely able to just lay there let alone do the actual stretches.  By the time I was done though, I was way better than I was and was able to get to bed and have a really good sleep.

I woke up at 8:30 this morning which I had wanted to wake up earlier, however, sometimes it just doesn't work out the way you want it to.  So, I had my breakfast, jumped in the shower and made my way over to the gym.  It wound up taking me just over 45 min to walk there because the sidewalks were a bit slippery but once I made it there, I got on the treadmill and continued on for another 30 min.  I really didn't think the intensity would be that important today considering the fact that I had just walked there and I still have my shift tonight, which requires me to be moving around and staying on my feet for 8 hours.

Once Sophia goes down for her nap today I am going to be doing my stretches before work this time, and also throw in 30 ab crunches between each one and maybe the plank as well.  This way I am way over what was required of me today and then tomorrow morning I am hoping to get into the gym a little bit earlier and Thursday as well.

Day 158 - Weigh in

Well, it has been a great day indeed so far!  I was up at 9am and anxious to go.  I had my shower and was out the door by 10:30am.  I got to the gym at about 10:50, filled up the water bottle, and jumped on the treadmill.  I put it on a 6.5 incline and a 2.3 speed for 5 min and then bumped the speed up to a 2.6 for 3 min.  I then bumped it up one more time to a 2.9 and then slowly increased the incline by .5 every 30 seconds until I got to a 9 incline.  Once there, I moved the speed up by .1 every min until I hit 3.4 and then left it there for 2 min.  I came down slowly the same way I went up and finished off at a 3 speed and 12.5 incline, burning 286 calories in half an hour.

From there I went over to the ladies only room intending on doing the eliptical for 15 min but, as I got in there, I realized that both elipticals were taken.  So, I jumped on the bike and did the bike for 30 min doing intervals each min reaching up to a level 14 twice.  I burned 192 calories there and called it a day.  Once I am done my blog and finished eating lunch, I will be going to do my stretches for the day.  Thank goodness Jeremy comes back this week.  I sure missed working out with him on Friday and will surely miss it tomorrow as well.

So the weigh in this morning was pretty good actually.  In two weeks I have managed to lose another 6 lbs making my weight 221lbs and a total weight loss of 43lbs to date!  Yay!  Anyhow, more tomorrow!

Day 156

Today started out as any other day this week.  I wanted to go to the gym so bad for 9am but, I just can't seem to get myself into a good system here.  I wound up waking up to a text message from Nikki asking if I had gotten to the gym.  I said no, that I just woke up.  Matt brought Sophia around 11am and I thought, ok, I will just go to the gym before I go to my family function.  Well that didn't work out as planned either as Matt didn't get here to pick up Sophia until around 3pm.  I still needed to get ready to go, and be out the door by 5:30pm.

I got to Yote's in Leduc at about 6:15pm and I was glad I went.  I just proved to myself that I can go to these family functions and not eat unhealthy.  I couldn't even eat unhealthy if I tried.  And believe me, I did try.  I had a total of 3 wings, and 2 tiny onion rings and a medium sized one and I just couldn't do it.  The smell of the grease and the taste of it just was not agreeing with me at all.  So I wound up ordering a salad.  Thanks Grandpa!

Anyways, by the time my salad finally arrived, I still wasn't up to eating much.  I don't think I even ate a quarter of it.  So, I asked for a to go container, boxed it up and brought it home.  There were alot of wings there tonight, which is ok because I have a big family and it will all get eaten no matter what.  There were also onion rings, nachos, and these fries that I literally had to switch sides of the table because I just couldn't sit there and inhale that grease.  I haven't had any greasy food in 6 months and let me tell you, I don't think I will have any for a long time to come.  Once you've got it out of your system, it's really hard to go back to that way of life.  So I was quite proud of myself for that.

I was invited to go back to Aunty Dawn's house, but, as I still had not gone to the gym, I really wanted to get it done.  2 days of not going, even though I have hit my 45 min cardio every day so far, I was really starting to miss it.  So, I declined the invite and headed home.

Once I got to the gym, I actually started out on the eliptical on a level 6.  Normally I would have gone straight to the treadmill but tonight, I wanted to burn the calories.  So I left it on a level 6 for 20 min and I was hitting speeds of a 4.  Not sure what the mph is but, considering the fact that I haven't hit faster than a 3 before, I did really good.  After 20 min I dropped the level to a 2 for 3 min and then finished off the last 7 min at a level 8.  All maintaining that speed of 4.  Again, I was pretty proud of myself for doing so well.

I got off of that and finished my workout on the treadmill for 15 min at a 2.6 speed and 6.5 incline and then grabbed a Tim Horton's coffee and went over to Nikki and Matt's place for a bit.  I have plans to hit the gym tomorrow morning again and this time I am going.  I am not allowing myself any excuses.  I found out today that Matt and Nikki are not going to be needing a babysitter after next Thursday for awhile, and although I am happy to be able to free up my day a little bit so I can go to the gym without previous engagements, I am sure going to miss spending time with the little pumpkin!

Anyhow, yesterday I did hit my 45 min of cardio as well.  I wound up doing nothing but the stairs for 15 min and then with my walk to work, I wound up making my homework.  Now it is 1am and I must go to bed if I am going to make it to the gym for 9am.  Another blog will be posted tomorrow afternoon, before I go to work.  Don't forget that Sunday is weigh in day and I have great news to share!  I am very excited to tell everyone now that the family knows the info!

Day 154

I woke up this morning at 6am only to roll over and turn off the alarm and go back to sleep.  My next alarm went off at 7am and again, I rolled over, reset the alarm for another hour and went back to sleep.  I finally crawled out of bed at 9am and thought, oh boy, there goes the gym idea.

So, I came downstairs, made my breakfast, and got ready to start the day.  Once finished, I still wasn't satisfied and wound up going back to sleep on the couch for another hour.  I woke up at 10:45am to Matt walking in the door with Sophia and I knew I had no choice but to get up.  That's how the day started.

Once I started watching Sophia things got a little better and I thought, ok, well since Matt was here a little earlier, I might be able to get myself to the gym for a little workout before I have to go to work.  No such luck.  However, I did walk to work, and it was a half hour walk by the time I actually got there.  So really, that wasn't too bad.  At least I got some of my cardio homework in.  And while I was watching Sophia today, I did get my stretches in as well as she was crawling around on the floor around me.  So I wasn't doing to bad.

I got to work and it was turning out to be a pretty good shift.  I was able to go into the kitchen and help the girls there and it worked out pretty good.  I was able to go for my break at 7:30pm and as I finished eating my supper, all of a sudden the lights went out, and all machines were off!  Uh oh!

So it turned out that I had an extra long break which wasn't that bad at all.  A little on the dark side, but pretty good.  The lights finally came on at about 9:30pm and we were finally able to get our stuff started and head for home.  Dina (my boss) offered to give me a ride home, so I just asked her if she would mind dropping me off at Tim Horton's.  I knew that my cardio homework was 45 min and I wanted to at least get that done today.  So, I walked home from Timmie's, came home, and watched The Biggest Loser finale.

I have come to the realization that alot of the players on the show underwent alot of the feelings that I have been going through on my own journey.  I am finding that I have a different side of me that I never knew I had.  All my life I felt like such a failure and completely worthless and now I have come to realize that I am not worthless.  I also know that maybe yes, I have run into some bad luck but, at the same time, alot of the bad luck that I have received has been self inflicted.  I am now making a better life for myself and I am so much happier with myself.

Yes, I do feel like giving up some days, when it gets hard, or when I am in so much pain that it hurts to move, but you know what?  That's what happens when you neglect your body for so long.  Now I have to work that much harder to get myself into a better position and it is worth it.

When I look into the eyes of all of my nieces and nephews and see them smile and see all the love in their little faces, that's what is keeping me going.  I am doing this for myself most of all, but I am also doing this for them.  I love them all so much and I just want to be able to do things with them.  I want to be able to go with the boys and maybe play some baseball with them, if they are into that, or take them for a hike somewhere.  I want to be fit for that.

So all in all, I am proud of what I have accomplished so far, and I am not going to stop until I reach my goal.  This Sunday I am hoping to have good numbers on the scale because since Jeremy is gone to Hawaii for a week, I am going to push myself just a little bit harder for the next week and a half until I see him next Friday at 9.

Tomorrow I do not have to babysit Sophia so, the plan is that I am going to go to the gym for at least a couple of hours before I head to work.  I plan to work mostly on the eliptical for the first hour and then do weight lifting for the second as well as some of the treadmill.  Hopefully I can keep my mind busy so that I can accomplish this goal.  I am hoping to have the blog up before I go to work tomorrow but, it may turn out to be after, depending on what time I get to the gym.  :)

Day 153 - Session

Again I had a terrible sleep.  I can't seem to get on a good system here.  At the beginning of this journey it was great, slept good, ate good, and worked out good.  Now it's getting sort of frustrating.  I wound up having sharp pains in my legs last night while I was trying to sleep and it didn't seem to work out very good for me.  I think I maybe averaged about 2 hours of sleep, if I'm lucky.  With today being the first day at McDonalds I am really hoping that it goes well and that I can manage to last for the rest of the day.

My session went good this morning, what with Jeremy going on holidays, and me being so tired, neither one of us was really in the mood to do much for working out but, we did it.

He started me off on the TRX ropes doing a squat while reaching behind me with one hand and then bringing it forward I had to lift myself up to a standing position with the other arm.  Then I had to do assisted squats normally 12 times and then assisted ab crunches 30 times.  Repeating this one more time, and then I had to go down and up the stairs 2 times.

I then had to go to the chin up and dip assist equipment and do that 10 times for each.  I repeated this one more time and then had to go down and up the stairs 2 times again.  We did the chin ups and dips a last time and I really can't remember what else we did.  I was so tired today that I just basically did whatever he asked me to do, and didn't bother trying to remember.

Since he is on holidays for a week, I won't see him again until next friday morning.  So my homework for the next week is to do 45 min of cardio every day except for one and regardless 15 min of stretching every day as well.  He would like me to do the rowing machine in there somewhere for a bit as well.  I guess it will have to work :)

Tomorrow I am going in for 9am hopefully, providing I am able to get a good sleep after work.  Even if I don't, I guess I will have to go regardless.  More tomorrow!  :)

Day 151

It started out being a pretty good day and progressively got better as the day went on.  I woke up later than anticipated this morning due to the fact that I was out late last night doing some Christmas shopping at walmart.  Once I was finished there I went over to Matt and Nikki's place for a little bit and by the time I got home it was almost 2 in the morning.

So, I wound up getting my butt out of bed at 8:30am and pretty much had to get ready for work right away as I had to be out the door at 9:30.  Once finished work I came home, we had supper (which, by the way was not good as it was pizza) and headed out the door to the gym.  I got there right at 7 and I jumped on the eliptical right away.

Because I don't like it that much, I figured, what better way to do something you don't like, than to do something you do like while you are doing it.  So, I texted Nikki the whole time I was on the eliptical to pass the time away.  And believe me, it did pass the time away.  I wound up going non stop for 55 minutes!  And burned 564 calories to boot.  I had to take a picture of it because I am pretty sure that Jeremy is not going to believe me when I tell him that, so I needed to have proof!

Once I got home, I took a little bit of a rest and then Shawn, Jan and I started getting the christmas decorations put out and started to decorate the house.  We are not done yet, however, we are hoping to finish it off tomorrow before I have to go to work.

It is now almost midnight and I am going to head downstairs, get my stretches done, and then I am going to bed as I have to be up early in the morning to go to the gym yet again.  This time though, I only have to do the eliptical for 5 minutes more and then I am free to get on to my friend, the treadmill.  It is weigh in day tomorrow and I am pretty excited about it, however, it will only be a normal blog due to the fact that on Thursday night I have a family function to go to in Leduc and I would very much like to share with my family the news of the weigh in first before I broadcast it to everyone else.  More tomorrow!

Day 150 - Session

Today started off to look like a bad day, but, I turned it around very quickly.  I woke up an hour and a half later than I wanted to be, caught a ride with Jan to the gym and when I got to the Esso to get my coffee this morning, I had no bank card.  Darn it!  So, I walked over to the bank thinking it might be open.  Nope, had to sit and wait for 40 min.  So I got my new bank card, walked myself back to the Esso, got my coffee, and sat down to enjoy it before my session.

Once finished, I walked over to the gym and paid the membership, and got ready to give it all I had.  I got on the treadmill and did a warmup for 8 min, greeted Jeremy and I was ready to go.  First off, he had me sit on the end of a bench and with 10lb dumbells shoulder height, had to lift my arms above my head 12 times.  Then we went to the other end and I had to grab this bar and while sitting down pull down on it past my chin 12 times.  We repeated these two 3 times and then I had to go down and up the stairs 2 times.  Once I got back, I had to do 12 side arm lifts with 5 lb dumbells, 12 pushups, and 15 seated rows and then repeated this 2 times.  Down and up the stairs two more times and then i had to do a side plank and 25 ab crunches, finishing off with the stairs 2 times again.

I'm not sure if we did anything else because it seemed like we did alot but really we just repeated the same exercises.  Nevertheless, it was a good workout and we had a good conversation going as well.  Monday is my next session and for homework I am supposed to do 2 hours of cardio along with my stretches but, he wants me to do the eliptical for at least an hour spread out within the next 2 days.  Not sure how that is gonna work with my schedule tomorrow but, I will try and figure it out.  :)

Day 149

Ok so, this morning was a great day indeed.  I  want to share with you all my story from last nights shift however.  It was actually quite funny now that I think back on it, and even though it wasn't at the time, now I can laugh about it.

I was working away and all of a sudden I got a buzz on the intercom from the carwash.  Apparently the door didn't want to open for the customer so I shut it down from the inside and waited a few min before turning it back on.  It still wouldn't work so I grabbed my coat and walked over to see what the problem was.  As I approached it, I noticed that the door had raised about a foot and didn't show any signs of going up or down.  So, I grabbed my keys and let myself in figuring I could hit the button on the inside and try closing it and opening it from there.  As I approached the door and crossed the sensors for the underwash spray, all of a sudden the car wash started going!  I had to book it out of there and as I got back through the door I was completely drenched in water!  Needless to say, I had to close the carwash down for the night because I was not attempting to go back in there to get it closed.

Now onto today.  I had decided last night that I wanted to go to the gym this morning before work so that I could come home and hopefully get a few things accomplished here before Monday came.  However, I was having such a great sleep and it turned out that I slept in.  So, no gym for me this morning,

I went to work, had a good shift, and afterwards, at 6, started on my walk to the gym.  I made it there for 6:30, completely frozen and warmed up for a few min before getting on the treadmill.  I started off at a 6.5 incline and a 2.6 speed and continued on for about 10 min.  I then upped the speed to a 2.7 for 2 min and then upped it again to a 2.9.  I stayed there for another min and then once again upped the speed to a 3.1 and raised the incline to a 9.  I carried on for another 10 min and then did my cool down.  I wound up staying on the treadmill for half an hour and burned 322 calories.  Not too bad of a workout!  At least I got my hour cardio in.  :)

Tomorrow morning is my session with Jeremy and I am kind of excited to see what he has in store for me, but at the same time, kind of nervous.  He keeps increasing certain things for me to do and it keeps getting harder and harder.  But, I welcome it with open arms!  :)

Day 147

Last night I went to my Aunt Cherilyn's house for a stayover and although I did have a fantastic time, I am very glad to be home.  I look forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight as I did not have a very good sleep last night.  I'm not sure if it is because I was not in my own house, or if my mind was still reeling from the events of the day, or what was going on.  I do know that because of my crappy sleep, I was in one of those moods today.

I hate feeling so angry all the time and so sore and frustrated.  It's definitely not what I wanted to sign up for with this journey.  I went to the gym after Aunty dropped me off at Southgate transit centre.  Took the LRT, almost fell asleep on some old guy sitting beside me, ew, and then walked over because I didn't want to chance getting on the same bus with the guy.  No, I'm just kidding about the old guy.  But I did almost fall asleep.

So I got to the gym with my 55lb bag, stuffed all of my junk in the locker, literally, and headed upstairs.  I saw Jeremy out of the corner of my eye but, because I was in such a foul mood, I really didn't want to talk to anyone.  At all.  So I jumped on the treadmill and put it on a 6.5 incline and 3 speed for 15 min and then figured I better go to the bathroom before I did anything else.

Again, as I was walking by and texting, Jeremy said hi to me and so I said hey and kept on walking.  I noticed that he was kind of looking at me a little bit, I am pretty sure he knew I wasn't in a good mood and he wanted to ask me why but, I guess I will have to save that for our session on Friday.  After my bathroom break, I jumped on the eliptical, yes the eliptical.  I did that for 10 min alternating the levels from a 6 to a 2 every min.  It was pretty good, and I would have continued, but then I had to get going so that I could come home and babysit Sophia.

I walked the 45 min home, so in total I did get my hour of cardio in that was required for my homework.  Yay me.  But I was still in a foul mood.  Pretty much all day was just not for me, I wanted to cry one minute, yell the next, and just throw things around another minute.  Sophia helped alot because whenever she is around I just smile and love her.  That's all I can do.

Once Matt came to pick her up though, it was back to square one.  Absolutely grumpy.  I think it has alot to do with the events of the last 3 days which I cannot go into detail but, certain people frustrated me and I have to figure out how I'm going to call them on it.

So, considering I was by myself and that there really wasn't anyone to call and talk to that didn't involve the parties that ticked me off, I called my bestest buddy in the whole world.  Miss Melly!  She is always wise and motivating and tells me exactly the way it is, no matter how bad it may make me feel.  I can always trust her to tell me the truth, and I can always depend on her to be completely honest with me.

Of course, I cursed a bit, yelled a little, cried alot, and she made me feel so much better.  I was thinking about cancelling my sessions for the next little while.  I actually had the text message written out to Jeremy but, I didn't send it.

I know that I have come along way and I know there are people out there that are proud along with me, and you know who you are.  Those of you also know that once I'm finished with this journey of self cleansing, we are seriously getting trashed!

Anyways, just kidding on the getting trashed part but, I will be taking those of you that have shown the most support out for a fancy dinner and a couple drinks.  You can count on that.  So now, I am trying to keep my head above the water so to speak.  I know I mentioned a couple months back about talking to a select few people about how I feel and how they affect me in my life at the moment and the day is coming sooner.  I can't go any further without dealing with it.

Please remember, this blog was created mainly so that I can go back and see where my progress has led me and what I need to do to continue.  The support and motivation is still appreciated guys, thank you.

Day 146 - Session

I had the worst sleep possible last night.  I think it was because I was so happy to finally be getting another session in and to share the news with Jeremy that I was able to complete all of my homework!  He was fairly pleased about that and rewarded me with more homework!  Yay!

Anyways, I got a ride with Merv and Jan this morning to the LRT and walked over the gym from there.  Actually to Esso.  I really wanted a coffee badly and figured that since I was gonna be there so early, why not?

Apparently my body had other plans for me.  I was sitting there reading my book, and the next thing I know, I'm starting to doze off!  Oh boy, this is not good.  How was I going to do a session if I couldn't manage to keep my eyes open?  So finally at 8:30 I figured that rather than sleeping at the table in esso, might as well get my warm up started.  I couldn't believe it but, Jeremy was actually 15 min early today!  It was so surprising!

We started of doing seated weight lifting, and then I had to do 12 squats with a 10 lbs dumbell and then raise them over my head.  I repeated this again and then he had me do the seated weights again and this time instead of doing the squats, had me lunge from one side of the gym to the other and back to the TRX ropes.  Once I got back from there I had to do 20 body pulls, go get a drink, then 20 more body pulls on the TRX.

He then had me go down and up the stairs 3 times, and we made our way over to the eliptical.  He had me alternating a level 6 and a level 1 for 8 min and then I had to do side lateral twists with a weight 12 times on each leg.  Once finished with that I had to go down and up the stairs 2 more times.  I was experiencing issues with dizziness again today.  This is really starting to bug me.  However, because of this, we kind of slowed down a little bit because he didn't want me to pass out or anything.

Once I came up the stairs the second time we did some stretching on the mats and I finished on the eliptical for 8 min on a level 2 for my cool down.  All in all it was a great session today.  I did everything he asked me to do and he had to tell me to take breaks.

During the session we usually talk a bit and this time was no exception.  I told him today that I didn't think he should go on holidays next week because I didn't think he needed them.  LOL  He laughed and said ok and then told me that next week for our session I was to keep him on track because he was going to be in holiday mode.

What a character!  So anyways, my homework is a little different this time.  I have to do an hour of cardio every day and of course, my stretches.  He also added in the I am to do a food log.  GRRR!  I hate food logs and never think about doing them.  Well I usually do it for a day or 2 but, then I just lose focus or interest in it.  lol

My next session is on Friday and I cannot wait to see what that boy has in store for me.  Hopefully these stupid dizzy spells will be gone by then.

Day 145 - Weigh in

It's getting harder and harder to lose these pounds but, I am also getting more and more determined each day.  I have been feeling a little on the lost side this past week because I only had 1 session with Jeremy this week and quite honestly, I felt like I had no ambition to go into the gym and work out.  However, Friday was a rest day for me and even though I didn't go into the gym, I did do my stretches and a total of 100 ab crunches before I headed off to work.

Yesterday I went into work and thought that I would go to the gym afterwards but, again, I was denied.  Apparently they had their staff Christmas Party and had the doors closed at 5pm.  Well, looks like I wasn't able to go then either.  So, I came home, had a bite to eat for supper and carried on to do my stretches and another 100 ab crunches.

This morning I woke up in a pretty good mood.  I have a lot of changes taking place in the near future and I thought that I better have my breakfast and get over there to get my workout done.  I hopped on the treadmill with every intention of only doing a half an hour but, I wound up going strong and finishing at an hour.  I had the incline to start at a 6.5 and the speed at a 2.6 for 10 min and then I bumped the incline up to a 9 and increased the speed to a 3.  I carried on there for about 5 min and then upped the incline once more to a 12.5 and the speed to a 3.2.  I went on for another 5 min and then dropped the incline back down to a 4.5, speed to a 2.6 and stayed there for 15 min.

Eventually I wound up doing a 9 incline for 15 min at the end and the speed never went down past a 3 for that last 15 min.  I burned 518 calories and was very pleased with myself for being able to do it.  I also wound up hitting a speed of 3.5 for 1 min which is now the highest I have ever been.  Hopefully next week I will be able to start a slow jog on there!  That's the goal anyways.

Today I am going to do my stretches before work, and make myself a nice meal for supper tonight.  I am having brown rice, a small piece of ham, and some stir fry!  Should be very yummy!

I am very excited for tomorrow to happen because I will be finally having my session with Jeremy.  I managed to get the equivelant of cardio that he wanted me to get within this last week and I am hoping he is satisfied with that.  If not, I guess he will be working me hard tomorrow!  :)

I was up at 8 this morning and jumped on the scale right away.  It turns out that I have lost another 2lbs this week making my weight at 227lbs.  How exciting!  A total of 37lbs lost!  Hurry up 40 lb mark!  I am getting impatient!  :)

Day 142

So far it's been an ok day.  I woke up this morning running a little bit behind to go to the gym but wound up being ready to head out the door by the time Jan was ready to leave.  As I don't have another session scheduled until Monday, my homework was to do an hour of cardio every day and so far I have been managing to do that.  On Tuesday I had to babysit for Matt and Nikki so I went to their house to babysit.  I walked over there and it took about 45 min to get there and then walked home which took only half an hour.  I didn't do my stretches when I got home but I figured I would be ok.  Maybe I should have.

Yesterday was a whole different story.  I was a bit sore still in the legs from my workout on Monday and even though I was sore, I still walked to the gym last night.  It took me 45 min to walk there and when I finally got to the Esso, all I really wanted was a coffee and to read my book.  So, that's what I did.  Jan came and picked me up at around 8:45 and I came home.

This morning I actually did go to the gym and realized that I missed going.  Even though I had been doing the walking and getting my exercise I kind of felt incomplete.  So, I got on the treadmill and started off at a 2.4 speed and a 6.5 incline.  I increased it afterr 15 min to a 3 speed and then dropped the incline down to a 4.5 after about 5 min.  I wound up hitting a 3.4 speed and a 9 incline at one point for 2 min and so far, that is the fastest I have gone on an incline that high so I was pretty darn pleased with myself for that.  I burned a total of 417 calories in 45 min and headed for home.  I may just be going back to the gym tonight after work again, I will have to see how I'm feeling but, I am certain that I am going to be getting my stretches done today and for the rest of the weekend so that I am good to go for Monday.

Hopefully my weigh in will be good on Sunday.  If I do double workouts from now until then, I may just have the best weigh in yet!  More tomorrow! :)
