I guess today was a little better in the mentality in a way. I woke up at 7:15am, a little later than I had wanted, but, I got dressed, had my breakfast and made my way over to the gym. By the time I got there I really didn't have alot of time for the work out so, I did 5 min on the eliptical, burned 35 calories, and headed over to the main area to do the treadmill.
I just did a speed walk on a 3 speed for 20 min and then I was heading out the door. I have to admit though, I am feeling much better about getting back on track with the diet and the exercise. I think I have had enough time to mess around and I only have another month to get my crap together to lose as much weight off this body than I can.
I walked over to the LRT with my Timmie's coffee, got to work about 20 min early and settled down to start my shift. By the time I was going home at 7, I was really thankful to be coming home to my bed. I received some pretty good news today, I am very excited to announce that I have made it to permanent part time. I know that it is only 20 - 29 hours a week, but hey, you gotta start somewhere.
Tonight as I am sitting here, I still haven't heard from Jeremy in regards to homework or a session for next week. Quite frankly, I am not going to keep hunting him down to figure out when he "feels" like working so, I am putting my foot down in that case and refusing to text him or inquire about it until he contacts me.
Tomorrow I will be going to the gym again before work so I will be keeping this blog short. I really don't have a lot to say in regards to why I have been feeling the way I have been in the last week, and I still have quite a bit to figure out and think long and hard about what I want out of my life.
So anyways, not much happening today, tomorrow will only get better, as it is Friday, and then I work on Saturday as well. Who knows what the next few months of my life are going to be like? Time will only tell.....

Day 339 - Session
Seems like I have been slacking in the department of working out and keeping myself on track lately. I am unsure as to what is going on but, I have been getting a little stressed out with quite a bit of different things that have been going on in my life in the last few months.
This morning I woke up early to give Jan a ride to the LRT so that I could take the car to my session. As it neared closer and closer to the time to leave, I really didn't want to go at all. I did not want to go and see Jeremy, I didn't want to go and workout, I just wanted to stay at home and be by myself.
I was a little bit late leaving the house, and though tmaybe I would be late. As it turned out I was right on time and got on the treadmill to do my warm up. It had been 5 days since I had been at the gym and I was actually feeling not guilty about it at all. Right at 11, Jeremy came to get me and we got going.
I started out doing lunges, and while in the lunge, I had to twist my torso towards the leg I was lunging on and reach down towards the floor across the knee. I did this 12 times on each leg, and then up and down the stairs 2 times. I repeated the same lunges, this time with a 10 lb kettle bell and then the stairs again. I had to repeat the kettle bells and stairs one more time and then he went and 2 10 lb dumb bells.
I had to do 12 squats with the dumbells held out in front of me, and then when standing raise them above my head 12 times. Then it was off to the bike to do a 2 min sprint and then back to the dumbells again. Back to another sprint on the bike and then a third round without the sprint on the bike.
Jeremy then went and got the step up platform and brought it over to where we were stationed. Here I had to stand on the platform with one foot and then lower the heel of the other one to the floor 12 times. I made the mistake of telling him it was too easy so he had gone and got the lifts for it and raised it up a little bit. I had to do 12 again on each leg and when finished, do step ups from the side about 30 times and then repeated.
It wasn't really a hard or intense workout, but it was still pretty good. I felt a little bit better when I left, and I am not sure what my homework is as he hasn't given it to me yet. I am to assume, that I should be doing at least an hour of cardio every day except 1 day, core and stretching until I see him next. As I was unable to tell him when we could do a session next week, I had to go out to the car and get my phone and leave my available times with him. At this point, I don't know when I will see him, but I am thinking probably next Wednesday.
Considering the fact that I had gone out tonight with my friend Cassandra to the pint, I didn't get home until pretty late and that is why the blog wasn't posted yet. I didn't feel like posting it after the session and figured I better do it before bed.
I might wind up going to the gym in the morning before work, I haven't quite decided yet. I will have to see how I feel about getting up at 7am. It might be a go, and it might not. But, regardless I will be either going in the morning or when I get home. So the blog will be up at the latest by 9 or 9:30 tomorrow night.

Day 336 - Weigh in
Oh my goodness, what a weekend! Where to start? On Friday I got into work about a half an hour early and I really wanted to do something and fill my weekend with fun. So, I sent off a text message to Jeremy and asked him if he could suggest a couple places for me to go as Jan was going away for the weekend and I just wanted to let loose and have a little bit of fun.
So, Cassandra and I made plans to go out after I was done work. We went to Whyte Ave to a bar called Hudson's. We took a cab, and when we got there, it was completely packed. There were about 5 or 6 bouncers at the front door and then we got in, looked around and saw that there weren't very many tables free. A guy was just paying his bill and leaving so we grabbed his table and sat down to enjoy ourselves. We stayed and had a few drinks in the span of an hour and then grabbed another cab and made our way back towards home.
We had the cab drop us off across the street at the bank, walked over to the liquor store, grabbed a case of beer and then walked over to Esso to pick up Debbie from there and headed on home with our case of beer. We had an awesome time, drinking, chatting and Cassandra and I wound up getting to bed at 4am. Needless to say I didn't get to the gym Friday.
Saturday, Cassandra and I were up at 9am, I was a weeeee bit hungover, and I really didn't want to cook anything at all for breakfast. So, we had showers, got dressed and walked over to Tim Horton's for breakfast and coffee. I really was wanting the coffee but, when we parted ways and I got home, I just couldn't bring myself to finish my coffee. Down the drain it went. I talked to my aunt Cher, invited her in to have supper with me and when she came to pick me up, we went to a few stores and then we went over to Ihop on the Southside and had supper. I was dropped off at around 6pm, fed the dogs and settled down for a little nap on the couch. 45 min later, I was still feeling pretty crappy so I basically just sat around here and did nothing.
Shawn and Merv wound up coming over for a bit, and when they left at 11pm, I really wanted that coffee that I wasn't able to drink. So, I called Debbie at Esso, asked her if she wanted to come with and I headed over to Timmie's at 12am. I got home at 2:30am and texted back and forth with my friend Robin until 4am. Oh my, 2 days of late night fun!
I had made arrangements with Edwina last week to go for a walk this morning. Hopefully we will be able to do it every Sunday because it really is nice to have someone to go with me. So, I was awake at 8am, called her, jumped in the shower and got ready to go. I went downstairs, turned on the wii and got the weigh in done.
I have been really getting strange results in the last little while here so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. It turns out that I am at 187lb! I lost 3 lbs compared to last week! Total weight loss is 77lbs! Wahoo! I will be getting back into the swing of things this week and really starting to buckle down because I have been slacking off big time in the last little while here. Today I work at Esso from 12-8 and then going out for coffee once again and then coming home to get my stretches and core exercises done.
Hopefully next weeks weigh in and also this weeks workouts are much better than they have been. No more messing around for me! :) Until tomorrow then......

Day 333
I'm not really sure about today. I mean, I did really well in regards to the workout, but there were a few mixed emotions today at times that I am unsure as to why it happened. By the end of the day though, I am in a completely magnificent mood and ready for just about anything life can throw my way. :)
I woke up at 6:30am to give Jan a ride to the LRT and then stopped at Tim Horton's on my way home to grab a coffee and a breakfast sandwich (Ya, I know, bad Krista). After I finished my breakfast and coffee, I watched a couple episodes of Days of our Lives that I have fallen behind on, played on the computer for a little bit, and then headed out the door by 11am.
I went over to Esso and chatted with Mike for a little bit, while picking up a shirt for Sunday's shift and the key. I checked the tire pressure for Jan, filled the tires and then made my way around to some of the neighboring business to see about wether or not public parking was allowed. By the time I got home, it was time for lunch so I made myself a half a sandwich, and watched 1 more episode of days.
I made it to the gym at 2, and as I walked through the door, Francois was standing at the counter. We said our hello's and I headed upstairs after putting my stuff away to the ladies only room. I got on the treadmill already knowing what I wanted to do.
I started off on a 2.8 speed for 10 min and then upped the speed to a 4.2 for a min. I kept going on the 2.8 for the down side and then upped the speed to a 4.4. The next time around, I went a little bit higher to a 4.6 and then finally by the end I kept alternating to a speed of 4.8. For the rest of the time on the treadmill I kept going back to the 4.8 and coming down to a 3 for the last 30 min. I finished my hour burning 339 calories and I was thinking about doing the eliptical for a bit but, by the time I finished my legs were feeling a little on the wobbly side.
I left to pick up Jan at the LRT and we wound up doing a bunch of running around and finally made it home at about 6:30pm. I had another half a sandwich for supper and when I finished doing the dishes up, got the yoga mat out and started the rest of my homework.
I started off with the plank because I knew that my back was fairly sore and I figured that I would just get it over and done with because otherwise, I wasn't sure if I was going to be doing it. I wound up holding it for 1 min and 1 second! This is by far the longest that I have been able to hold the plank. I wound up getting the stretches done, all 5 different ones, and in between each one I did 20 ab crunches for a total of 100.
We will have to see what the weigh in says this week, but I am pretty sure it is going to be fairly good. I have been noticing that my pants are starting to feel a little bit bigger on me and also my tops are feeling a little loose as well. I hope it's good!
Tomorrow I work from 10am until 6:30am again, hopefully I will be going to the gym before work and if not, then I will be going after work for a bit. Jan is going to be going away for the weekend, so it looks like I am going to be having quite of bit of time on my own. Who knows what is going to happen in the next couple of days.

Day 332
For the last 5 days now I have been sick. It seems to get better each day but, as I still am having trouble breathing, and unable to do much without hacking up a lung, I still have not gone to the gym. I have, however, been continuing my core exercises and stretching like the good girl that I am. Only because the core and stretching isn't high intensity and I know that is what I can do.
So, yesterday I woke up at 7:30am, got ready for work, looked outside and figured that I wouldn't need to take an umbrella to work as it was only dribbling out there. So, I grabbed my stuff, and started my walk over to the LRT.
As I reached the Walmart parking lot, it really started to pour. I thought to myself, oh good job Krista, out sicker than a dog and walking around with no protection from the rain. Not even a hood to put over your head. Way to go. However, I did finally make it over to the LRT after half an hour of walking briskly, worked my day until 6:30pm and then was back on my way home.
As soon as I got in the door, I had a quick bite to eat, got the yoga mat out, and prepared to get some of the homework done. I held the plank for 30 sec, did 12 pushups, 60 ab crunches and my stretches. I called it a night as the previous night I only averaged about an hour of sleep.
Today, I wound up crawling out of bed at 7:45am, a little bit later than I would have liked but, I was so comfortable that I didn't want to get mobile just yet. I should have just done it anyways as I wasn't able to eat breakfast before I left. I started off walking to the LRT again today, but this time I only wound up walking 20 min before I grabbed the next bus and took that the rest of the way. Hey, cardio is cardio in my books! :)
After work, Jan had to stop at the bank and the pet store and then we had to stop and get gas in the car. By the time we reached home it was 8:00pm. I had wanted to go to the gym tonight however, it is too late now, and if I am going to be up at 5:00am tomorrow to give Jan a ride to the LRT then I figured I would try and get to sleep kind of earlier.
I am planning on doing to reps of the pushups tonight, so 24 in total, and doubling up on the plank and ab crunches, just for that extra push. Of course the regular stretches will be done as well and then it will be off to bed I go. I plan to go to the gym tomorrow and providing I am able to breathe fairly good, I will try to spend at least 2 hours there. I may wind up coming home and then going back, I'm not sure, I will have to see how I feel. :D

Day 330 - Session
Goooooo blog! Ok so I am still feeling pretty crappy and it sure showed in the session today. i did try my hardest, and Jeremy laughed at me alot, but we made it through with all smiles. Of course, with me retiring the old frumpy and extremely loose fitting clothes, I was wearing a little tighter fitting shirt today and when Jeremy came to get me on the treadmill after my 10 min warm up, he commented on the clothes of course. He asked me where my loose clothes were and I replied that I had retired them and even threw them a burial ceremony.
He laughed and brought me over to the benches by the stairs. I was to do walking lunges across the gym and while in the lunge, turn my body towards the leg that was extended on each side and then make my way back. Once getting back to the benches, I had to do 12 bench squats and then was able to rest. He went over to the trainer's desk and came back with a 20 lb vest. I had to put it on and then do the lunges and the bench squats 2 more times.
I then had to go down and up the stairs and when I got back, was instructed to have a drink, rest for a few min and then he grabbed the bonsai ball and a 5 lb medicine ball. While standing on the bonsai ball, Jeremy would hand me the medicine ball and then I had to bring it to each side and then throw it back to him. We did this about 12 times for each side, in between me losing my balance quite a few times on the ball and Jeremy laughing at my stability issues and then from there I faced one direction, while he faced the other beside me and we did a ball toss each way.
I went down and up the stairs again and then we repeated these two exercises and then went back downstairs to a secluded room. I had to do step ups, 10 for each leg, 8 pushups and then sitting on the stage do 12 5lb dumbell lifts while seated. I was able to rest for a min and then I had to take one of the dumbells, hold it over my head while doing toe taps and then repeated the 8 pushups, and 2 handed dumbell lifts. I repeated these 1 more time and then we made our way back upstairs.
Jeremy asked me to do a 2 min sprint on the bike at a level 10, reduce the level to a 5 for a min and then keep alternating it. As I am still not feeling good, I was unable to complete this and he said that it was ok for me to just continue on how I felt most comfortable for the duration of 10 min. As I was leaving we set up a session for next Wednesday at 11 and then he gave me my homework.
I am to do 5 hours of cardio, 10 min of core every day and also my normal stretching. I told him that clearly I didn't get my homework done as I was sick for the weekend and that I would try to get my homework done this time.
Tomorrow I work from 10 until 6:30 and I have full intentions of going to the gym first thing in the morning before I go to work. I am hoping to fill some of my days off from Epcor this week with some shifts at Esso. I have been hounding them pretty bad, which of course, I kind of feel a little bad about but, I really am in need of the money. Hopefully tomorrow I will hear some good news in that department.
I have already done a few stretches this morning before I went to my session but, I am hoping to get some done tonight as well before I head off for bed. If I do, I will post with the blog tomorrow.

Day 329 - Weigh in
So far, my nice relaxing long weekend has been far from relaxing. I have been sick pretty much since Friday night and it has progressively gone downhill from there. I was feeling so terrible yesterday that I didn't make it to the gym. I wound up falling asleep a few times in my chair and then retiring to bed by about 9:30pm.
This morning I woke up to take some meds at 7am and figured since I was up, I would do my weigh in and then go back to bed. I was still feeling pretty crappy and just wanted to sleep. It turns out that I gained again this week. I am now at 190 lbs. However, there are quite a few things that could be explanation for it. For one, I could have gained some more muscle, it could be because I'm sick, and I could be retaining water. I also feel that I am not drinking as much water as I should be. Even though my eating has gotten better and I have started to get back on track, my water intake is very poor right now. So, I guess my water bottle will have to be attatched to my hips so to speak.
Since I am starting to feel a little bit better, I will be doing my stretching and core exercises today. I will not be going to the gym because I don't want to spread the germs, even though I wipe the machines down after use. I just don't want to be the cause of anyone else getting sick.
Tomorrow I have my session with Jeremy at 1, providing we are both feeling good. I will hopefully be texting him tomorrow morning to find out if we are still going to be doing it. Otherwise, it looks like I will be seeing him again at some point next week.
That's it for the blog today, short, sweet and to the point. Time to go and rest some more, feeling a little bit drained with the little typing I have done. Chow!

Day 327
Two blogs will be posted today since I was unable to post yesterday. I didn't get home until 9:30pm and after about 20 min, wasn't feeling very good so wound up going to bed.
I had not to bad of a day yesterday, considering the fact that I had people yelling at me and basically blaming me because they were using too much power therefore resulting in a high power bill. Come on, I don't read your meter, I don't personally charge you for your power, there is no need to yell at me. lol
About 2 or 3 weeks ago I had applied for the full time position at work. I had been patiently waiting for the results and just as I was looking at the last half hour of my shift, I was called into a little conference room. It turned out that I didn't get full time however, I really didn't think that I would be getting it anyways considering the fact that I am in a completely different field than what I am used to and I don't have the experience or knowledge yet.
So, as I had planned on the fact that I may not get it, I decided to talk to Mike from Esso last week. I have decided to go back until I can get on full time at Epcor. This will mean that I won't have my weekends off like I have been and not only that, but I won't be having as much downtime as I have been either. Time to hit the grindstone and make some more money!
I got off of work and by the time we got home, I really didn't want to go to the gym. However, I immediately went upstairs, changed my clothes and left. I didn't want to give myself the chance to sit down and start relaxing because then I wouldn't be doing anything.
I got upstairs in the ladies only room and jumped on the treadmill. I started off on a 2.8 for 10 min, and a 4.5 incline and then lowered the incline to a 0 to get ready for my jog. I bumped the speed up to a 4.4 and gave it my all for 2 min. I dropped the speed down to a 3.2 for a min and then back up to a 4.4 for 2. I kept alternating every min after that and at one point I wound up jogging for a total of 6 min straight! I was in my book and didn't really realize the time had gone by. I also did something a little different too. I decided that I would increase the speed each time slowly for a little while. I wound up hitting a 4.8 at one point for a min, and I was pretty excited about that! In 50 min min I wound up burning 299 calories and feeling pretty darn good!
Today I will be hitting the gym around 3pm and the blog will be posted after supper at some point. This time I won't be going anywhere so I will make sure to have it posted for everyone! :)

Day 326
It has been an interesting day once again. I woke up extremely tired this morning after only having about 20 min of sleep. Charlie decided last night that she didn't want me sleeping too much and pretty well kept me up most of the night. In between her begging me to open the window and having terrible dreams of people trying to kill me, it really was a horrible sleep.
I spent most of the day in a pretty cranky mood and for some stupid reason I had really rude people on the phones. I guess that's what happens when you start out in the wrong frame of mind. I wound up making it through the day but, by the time I was ready to go home I was so exhausted and ready to go to bed.
I got home around 4:30pm, changed my clothes, and immediately headed over to the gym before I got too comfortable. I went upstairs to the ladies only room and since both elipticals were busy, and 1 of the treadmills, I decided to do the bike. I started off on a level 4 and kept on for about 10 min. I then bumped it up a level at 11 min and each min that passed, I kept raising it until I hit a level 8. I kept going for another min and then reduced the level back down to a 4. I only did a half hour workout today and burned 164 calories. I called it quits and headed home.
After supper I decided to get going on part of my homework. I held the regular plank for 30 sec, alternated the side plank for about 20 sec on each side, 10 pushups, 20 ab crunches, and then all of my stretching. I am sure that I should have done more but, my arms are still pretty sore from yesterdays session, plus my back is a little on the tender side as well.
Because I am so tired tonight, I will be heading to bed a wee bit earlier than I normally do and tomorrow I will be hopefully going for at least an hour and a half to compensate for today. Jan and I should be home a little earlier than we were today too so, I will be able to get onto some of the other machines that I wanted to do.
I am sure hoping that this week's weigh in is good, I can't wait to get under the 185 mark once again. It felt so good seeing that number. I also have not gotten the news that I have been waiting for, so maybe tomorrow I will hear something and be able to let everyone know.

Day 325 - Session
Today has been a pretty good day I would like to start off saying. I was awake by my desired time of 7:30, came downstairs, had my breakfast and then went back upstairs to get ready for my session. I have no idea why I had started getting ready so early, considering the fact that it literally takes me about 20 min max from shower to walking out the door. Oh well, I headed out the door at 9:45 and arrived at the gym just as Jeremy got there. He was heading to the door with his Timmie's coffee and I started teasing him already for not getting my coffee as well. I went and changed and then headed upstairs to fill my water bottle and start my warm up. As I made my way upstairs to the water station, I noticed that it was broken. I informed Jeremy and went on my way.
I did 5 min warm up and then he gave me a 5 lb weight and told me to do a squat with the weight between my legs and then standing up, bring up the weight and turn it like I was driving a car 2 times each way. ( I hope I explained that right.) I had to do this 12 times and then do toe kicks on the bench maybe about 20 - 25 times and then repeated with a 10 lb weight. He then went and got the bonsai ball and I had to do 12 side lateral lunges with each leg while hold the weight with both arms extended in front of me. He got me to go down and up the stairs 3 times and then repeated.
As I got upstairs for the third time, I was then directed over to the TRX ropes. Here I had to do 12 rows, 12 squats, 12 more rows, 12 pushups, and then back to the stairs 3 times. I repeated these a second time and then on the third round, I only had to do 8 of each.
Again as I came upstairs the third time, I noticed Jeremy had brought the mat over closer to the stairs and I was able to rest for a minute. I then had to do about 20 cross ab crunches, lean on my elbows and bring my knees up to my chest alternating each leg and all the while, not letting my feet touch the floor. I then had to go to the pulley rope and while in a squat, do 12 rows pulling 60lbs towards me and then down and up the stairs again. I was to repeat this another 2 times and then I was finally able to go and do a cooldown on the treadmill for 5 min.
It was a great session today, even though Jeremy was not feeling well, I behaved myself and did everything he asked without complaining once. :) We set up our next session which is next Monday at 1pm and then he proceeded to give me my homework. He started off telling me to do 3 hours cardio, and I asked him if he could make it just a little bit more challenging, so he chuckled and said ok, 4 hours cardio. I am also to do side planks, regular planks, and all ab crunches as well as pushups and stretches every day. I guess I got what I asked for! Just reading all of that makes me tired but, I will attempt to do it, because if I don't, I just may have to kick my own ass for being such a smarty pants!
I am hoping to have some good news tomorrow. I haven't mentioned anything yet because I don't want to get my hopes up and then have them trashed. So, hopefully tomorrow I will know something. :)
Chow for now!

Day 324
Well, it was an ok day today. By the time I got off of work, I was tired, cranky and just wanted to be alone and not have to talk to anyone. So, I came home, let the doggies outside to do their business, and by the time I finished my coffee, I was ready to hit the gym.
I went upstairs to fill up my water bottle and Jeremy was sitting at his desk with 2 of his trainers. I was really hoping to not see him today, I just wanted to be alone. Thank goodness he was busy. Nonetheless, he looked up, finally recognized who I was, grinned like a cheshire cat and waved at me. I gave him a smile, waved back and went into the ladies only room.
I got on the treadmill, started off at a 3 speed for a min and then increased to a 4 for a min to do my jog. I did this for the duration of 5 min and then changed it up a little and did a jog for 2 min at a time for a few times and then back to only a minute.
At the 10 min mark I was surprised because I had to go to the washroom. Normally I can go my full hour and not stop but, regardless, I went. At this point I had burned 68 calories. When I got back I wound up going back and forth between the speed walk and jog for another 50 min total and then hit that wonderful cooldown button. This second time around I burned another 261 calories for a total burn of 329. Not too bad for a treadmill run I thought.
Once I got off of the treadmill I realized exactly what I had done. I was sweating so bad that my whole front was soaking wet and I just felt icky. Good, but icky. Obviously I did a good job today otherwise I wouldn`t have been that bad.
I left the gym around 5:10 and headed to the LRT station to go and pick up Jan. We headed to Walmart out on the highway by sherwood park and then when we got home, we relaxed in the yard until around 8:30. By this time I figured that I should probably get my stretches done and head for bed.
I got the yoga mat out and held the plank for 30 seconds and then right away went into 30 ab crunches. I did my reaching stretch and then repeated the 30 ab crunches once more. I kept alternating stretch and ab crunches for 20 min and called it a day. I had done a total of 150 ab crunches today.
I am pretty sure that tomorrow will be a squat or lunges day with Jeremy, along with some awesome stair climbing and probably some weight lifting. I guess we will have to see what happens then! My session is at 10, so I will probably be posting after lunch sometime.
Not much more to say today, still not very talkative. I am in a much better mood now that I was able to get my workout in and push it to the max, just kind of meh. Anyways, more tomorrow! :)

Day 323
I am having a great day today! I woke up this morning kind of late to get ready for work however, I was still able to run out the door at 7 with Jan due to the fact that my hair took less than a minute to do. I made it to work on time and wound up spending quite a bit of time talking with my team lead and discussing many options in regards to in bound courses and stuff that I am able to apply for and better educate myself on the business.
After work, I went with Jan to Safeway to pick up a few groceries, came home and had soup and a sandwich for supper and then away I went again to meet up with my dear friend Nadine at her son's soccer game and visit.
I hit the gym when I was done by about 7:15 and went up to the ladies only room to have a little peace and quiet. I only did a half an hour on the treadmill at a 0 incline and 3 speed. I burned 141 calories and left to come home. Today I really didn't feel up to doing a full high intensity workout and that is completely fine. Tomorrow I will be going for my full hour though right after work.
I am quite tired today and I am pretty sure that's why I wasn't really feeling it. I think after a good night's sleep and once I have finished work tomorrow I may just feel like going harder than the last few days. I won't be doing the stretches tonight as it is 9:30pm now and I must get to bed. Today's blog is quite a short one but then again, not much really happened. I am in a great mood and feel fabulous! I will however post the pictures of the new hair cut, just so that I can remember when I did it and what it looked like although I am pretty sure I will be keeping it this short for quite awhile. :)

Day 322 - Weigh in
Considering the fact that my morning started off so wonderful, (not really) my day was actually way better. I did not get to the gym today as I had planned however, Jan and I decided to do something much better. We decided to finish up the raking in the yard and picking up the little doggie presents! YAY!
This took us a total of 2 hours this morning and I can say that I did feel good but, my back is feeling just a little on the tender side. As I had done a double workout yesterday, I figured that it was ok to take it a little easier today.
Once we finished up in the yard, we both had our showers, did the makeup and got ready to go and pick Sara up for a little bit of shopping. We went to Reitman's where I saw a couple of pairs of pants that I would have liked to buy had I the money on hand, and then we made our way over to the Staples parking lot. Sara needed to send a fax somewhere and I decided that I wanted to go look in the Old Navy store while we waited. I wound up buying 3 shirts from there worth 5 bucks each and not only that, they were a large! It seems for some shirts, I am in an extra large, and some I am in a large. Hey I'm not complaining!
From Old Navy Jan and I dropped Sara off at home and decided to go to Goodwill. I figured since we were already in shop mode, we may as well just keep going. I wanted to pick up at least 1 or 2 pairs for pants if I could for casual wear on the weekends. I wound up buying 1 pair of work pants and 1 pair of casual. That worked!
Tonight I have been invited to a friend's house for dinner so I have opted to walk there and walk home rather than drive to get some sort of cardio in. Maybe after supper I may feel up to going for a little bit longer walk, who knows.
When I got up this morning to do weigh in, I was absolutely terrified of what I was going to see. For the last week I have been kind of monitoring it (I know, I really need to quit that) but, it's more habit now than anything, it seemed to say one time that I gained 6 lbs and the next time I gained 9 lbs. I thought maybe I would change the batteries in the balance board to see if that made a difference. Not really much of one I am afraid. It looks like my weight is at 188lbs. So from last week, I have gone up 4 lbs. But I don't know about that number. Maybe with new batteries and doing the weigh in next week will be better. I sure hope so!
I will be doing my stretches tonight, the plank and at least 100 ab crunches. I may try to attempt the side plank, but I think the normal one is just fine. Other than that, I will be heading to the gym tomorrow pretty much right after work, and then the blog should be posted after suppertime. Happy Mother's Day to all moms out there!

Day 321
Looks like today has been a pretty good day so far. It is official that I have made it 1 complete day smoke free! Yay! This morning Julia and Shelley came over to do a makeup makeover for me, compliments of Melanie. It was fun, got a lot of new tools and makeup and it seems like I will be doing things a little differently from now on.
Once we were done, Julia gave me a ride over to the Esso by the gym where I grabbed myself a coffee, read my ereader for a little bit and then headed over to the gym. I changed my shoes and headed up to the ladies only room. I did 12 forward weight lifts, 12 the other way and 12 trunk rotations on each arm. I rested for a min and then went right back into it.
I decided that I was going to try and do as much as I possibly could. I went over to the eliptical and put it on a level 4 and cruised for about 15 min burning 147 calories. I wasn't quite ready to leave and went on to do the treadmill starting at a 2.9 speed and a 2.5 incline. After a min I increased the speed to a 4.2 for a min and then alternated this for about 5 min. I then wound up decreasing the speed of my walk just a little bit to a 2.5 but continued the jog where it was. I burned 188 calories in 30 min here and went over to the bike.
I had every intention of only doing 15 min on the bike, but as soon as I hit that 15 min mark, I didn't quite feel like I had done anything so I went for another 30 min. I alternated the levels here as well in between an 8 and a 4. By the time I was done, I wound up burning 164 calories here. I figured that was enough for the gym today because Jan and I are planning on going for a walk later on this evening after supper and I wanted to make sure that I was still able to go.
When I got home, I wound up doing my stretches, with the addition of 20 ab crunches and I held the plank for 50.24 seconds. This is the longest that I have been able to hold it so far so I am fairly pleased with that. I think when we get back from our walk I will be doing the stretches one more time and this time I will try the plank, ab crunches and pushups as well. Just to get a little bit extra in. I am not sure what is going on or even how the scale will read tomorrow but, as I have been sort of watching it in the week it doesn't look good. Hopefully the numbers are good tomorrow otherwise I may have to kick some butt this week. My own, but well worth it! :)
Other than that, I am very excited to be going to my session on Wednesday with Jeremy. I have missed him and his evilness. I am hoping he pushes me hard and gives me the workout that will give me the good numbers I want for next week. I will be heading to the gym tomorrow again for awhile, not 1 1/2 hours like today but probably an hour because I will have to walk home when I am finished. Here's hoping everyone has a great day! :)

Day 320
Well, yesterday turned out to be an epic fail for the smoking. Actually, they say that it's not a fail if you have 1 or 2 smokes in the day. But, I did manage to go 20 hours before I really wanted a cigarette. I got a pack, smoked 4 in the day, and then today, wound up throwing out the pack because I couldn't do it. I have only had about 3 or 4 and even then, I have only been having a couple puffs on each of the ones that I had.
So anyways, I should be ok, because like I said, that last one, really turned me off. Anyways, I will see how it goes for the rest of the weekend. Should be fine, with the exeption of cravings but, I will try to deal with that when the time comes.
Off of the smoking bit and onto the weight loss, where this blog is supposed to be heading. Yesterday I did wind up going to the gym for about 40 min. I did the eliptical for 15 min burning 130 calories, and then I went over to the treadmill to finish off.
I started on a 2.9 speed and 4.5 incline for a min and then upped the speed to a 4.2 and did a jog for a min. I alternated this for 5 min and then brought the incline back down to a 0. I am slowly trying to increase the amount of time that I am able to do a jog on the incline as it burns more calories. I carried on for 17 min and then hit the cool down button. I had burned another 150 calories and was feeling pretty darn good.
When I got home, I did my stretches, held the plank for about 25 seconds and called it a day. I have yet to do my workout today. I will be going for a walk after supper down to the ravine for an hour and a half, and then I will be coming home to attempt to get the core exercises done and stretches.
Tomorrow being Saturday, I will be attempting to do a 2 hour workout. Hopefully I am able to do it as I have been attempting to monitor my weight within the week and it has been really weird. I will have to see how it goes on Sunday for weigh in.
As my back has finally seemed to be getting better as the week has gone by, next week I am going to be pushing myself a little bit harder. I just want to be good again, and this time I am going to make sure to watch my eating habits a little bit closer. Not much more to say today, will be posting at some point in the afternoon tomorrow! :)

Day 318
Ok so, it turned out that Monsier Jeremy cancelled on me today. Once again, he tried to make everyone happy and wound up taking on more of a workload than he was able to manage. That's ok though because I was still a little bit sore from Monday still and probably wouldn't have been able to manage the session anyways.
I did 8 min on the treadmill before Jeremy wound up cancelling and then I went over to the ladies only room. I did an additional 5 min on the eliptical and realized that my back was starting to get really sore in the lower area. I figured I would try maybe the bike.
I wound up lasting even less on the bike. I lasted for roughly 2 min and went back over to the main area. I got back on the treadmill and set it on a 2.8 and 2.5 incline. I went on for about 5 min and then increased the speed to a 3 and the incline to a 4.5. I went on until I hit 13 min and I had to leave. By this time I was feeling the middle of the back tighten with the problem in the lower and I had already pushed myself for 5 min longer than I wanted to initially quit. I left for home and was a little upset with myself.
Today I wound up making a choice that alot of you will probably not believe that I will go through with, but, as of right now, I have been smoke-free for 8 hours. Last night, I logged on the albertahelps website and signed up. Today, after I got home from work, I called the hotline when I got home and received my first consultation.
This time I am going to quit. And I am not going to give in to the temptations that I know will be coming. And if I am cranky, so be it! It's part of the process and I have to learn to deal with the cravings.
Tonight, as it is 8:15pm, I will be doing my stretches and then pretty much heading off to bed. I am pretty tired as I didn't get a really good sleep last night and I should probably get a good night's rest for tomorrow. I'm going to the gym in the afternoon and quite possibly, I will be going from 1:30 until the time that Jan gets off of work. I want to keep my mind fairly busy so that I don't think about when I "should've" had a smoke.
So from now on, let this be the start of a new journey once again and this time will be successful!

Day 317
I think today I have finally proven something to myself. I have finally proven to myself that I will not be taken down without a fight. I am strong, and more determined than ever to get this life back on track. Yesterday's episode with my back really took me for a loop. I maybe should have taken a second night off to recuperate and gather my strength back up, but, I decided before I went to bed last night that from now on, I am not going to take rest until I am finished with my goal.
This morning I crawled out of bed at 6am, not sure what the day was going to bring me. I knew that I had plans to meet up with a dear friend of mine, Cassandra after work and that I was going to the gym before we were going for coffee. I didn't count however on the awesome workout that I was able to perform today.
I got to the gym at 1pm, headed up to the ladies only room and was a little bit disappointed because Jeremy had wound up leaving before I was able to get there. I wanted to talk to him to see when we would be doing our next session. I opted to start off with the eliptical for a little bit of a warm up and wound up doing that for 8 min and burning 75 calories. I was feeling pretty good, the back wasn't quite so bad at this point so I wiped down my machine and moved over to the treadmill.
I started off at a 2.5 speed for a min and 0 incline and then decided to move up the speed and do a jog for a min on a 4.2. I varied back and forth every min between these two for about 15 min and then I decided to try a 4.4 speed a few times. As I kept on going with the alternating speeds, at one point I decided that I was going to increase the incline to a 2.5. I wasn't able to continue on at this incline on the jog so I kept it at a 0 for the rest of my time. I did wind up doing a 2 min jog a couple of times as well so I know that I am starting to get used to it. Not to mention the fact that I did not hold onto the rails once. In 52 min I finally ended my hour session at the gym burning an additional 281 calories.
I am very happy that I was able to do the jog so often and for that long. Hopefully I will be able to continue getting stronger on the treadmill and finally be able to kick some butt!
Once I was heading out of the gym, I wound up running into Jeremy outside. He asked me how I was doing, noticed that I was dripping wet from my intense workout. I knew that he was pretty happy and impressed with what I had done after I told him and since I was a little on the rushed side to meet up with Cassandra, I asked him about our next session. He wanted to do a Saturday session but, I explained that I was busy. I went back inside and upstairs with him and we agreed on having a session tomorrow at 2pm. I have a feeling that it will be an interesting session that's for sure.
When I got home from dropping Cassandra off at Clareview, I had my supper and then did 5 different stretches. I think the core work will have to wait until my back is feeling a bit better and I think that maybe tomorrow or Thursday I will start to do do it once again. For now, the cardio will have to be enough.

Day 316 - Weigh in
Where to begin? Hmmm... Well I guess I can start with Saturday, since that was the last day that I had posted. Once I got finished with my session I came home and called my Aunt Cher in Devon. I didn't want to have another boring weekend of just sitting at home with nothing to do, so I asked her if she wanted to come and pick me up, play Canasta as much as she felt like, and stay the night. So, we got to her place around 5:30pm, had supper and then I told her that we had to go for a walk before we even thought about playing Canasta.
My cousin Stacey came with us so we headed down the block and by the time we reached the end and across the street, Aunty wanted to go home. So, we all agreed to go around the circle to her house, dropped her off at home and then Stacey and I carried on by ourselves. At this point, we decided that we would go and visit my brother, his wife and the boys.
I thoroughly enjoyed every minute I was there. A person doesn't realize how much they miss their loved ones until they go and see them every so often. I also wanted to go see them so that I could share in the joy of seeing Donovan's medals from Taekwondo, and to let both of them know how extremely proud I was of the both of them. I love them to pieces and really hope that the next time a tournament comes around that I will be able to go and see them live. :)
After visiting for about 15 - 20 min, we decided to get going and continue on home so that Aunty would finally be able to kick my behind in cards. I think we did roughly about an hour walk and it was very good. I stayed the night, and then Sunday morning, we got up, had a couple more games of Canasta and then I got my ride home.
Once I got home, I really didn't feel like sitting here, so, I asked Jan to prep Daisy for a walk for me with her harness and leash and away we went. We were gone about roughly an hour and I didn't let her squat half as much as we normally do, because I wanted a walk, not a pee session. I was about 5 min from home, and called to ask Jan to get Lily ready for the next round.
I stopped for a drink of water, grabbed Lily and headed off in the opposite direction from home towards the ravine with her. We went down a pretty steep hill, came around the corner and up a bunch of stairs and then came home totalling another 30 min walk. Again, I didn't let her stop very much and when I got home I decided that I had better have some supper.
When I finished supper, I still felt like I was missing something and that I really did not want to be here. It was beautiful outside and I thought, well, I'll go for another walk. This time I went by myself, heading towards the ravine and walked the whole thing, and then finally heading home. My total walk time yesterday was 3 hours and I was sure feeling it when I got home.
I got home and had to make a couple of phone calls, and then pulled out the yoga mat. By the time I was ready to do my stretches, my feet had hurt so bad that I could barely walk on them. I decided that I better get it over and done with and as I went to lay down on the floor it was almost like my back gave out from underneath me. I hit the floor hard and both my stomach and my back started throbbing. I just didn't understand how my back and stomach would hurt so much considering the fact that I wasn't really going to fast or going hard but, I think the main issue with my back was because when Jeremy helped me with the stretch on Saturday, somehow because it was a little different in the way that he did it, my back just didn't like or enjoy it.
I went to get back up from the floor and had to attempt it 4 times before I was finally able to get up. At this point, I decided that I was not going to be doing any stretching and no core exercises. The best thing for me to do was to go to bed.
This morning I woke up, after a terrible sleep, rolled out of bed, and thought that I would not be going into work. My foot was so sore I couldn't stand on it so, I got the shoes on, and made my way slowly downstairs. As I was walking around, my feet started to feel a little better and I decided I would go in to work. I went into the basement to turn on the wii and do my weigh in, considering I had missed it yesterday. I had done a check on Saturday and it read that I had gained 3 lbs. This morning when I stepped on, I thought maybe that I might have gained some more.
Apparently, I had lost again! I am now down to 184.2!!! That would be a total weight loss of 80 lbs! Completely amazing! I don`t know if it is completely accurate, we will definitely have to make sure to see this next weekend if it proved to be true. Phase 2 of my journey is almost complete! I am so excited! If this is true, my next goal is to lose another 40 lbs. I am hoping that it will only take until August now that it is getting alot easier to maneuver around. As I left early from work today, I will not be going to the gym. I was able to get my stretches done and I will be doing them once more before bed to ensure that I am ok for tomorrow. I still haven`t heard anything from Jeremy as to when our next session is, I may hear back today, or tomorrow and if I don`t, then I guess I will just have to wait and see. I won`t bug him about it as I am still pretty sore and not really ready to do a session at this time anyways. Maybe when I get into the gym tomorrow he will try to set up a session with me. :)
It is a long one today, but when I am not home and able to get everything written down every day, it winds up to be a little long. I will probably post tomorrow when I am finished at the gym around 4 pm.

Day 314 - Session
Oh boy, what an incredible workout! I started off on the treadmill for 8 min and then I walked over to Jeremy's desk, handed him my punch in slip and headed for the washroom before we started. When I got back upstairs I was handed two 5lb dumbells and had to hold them shoulder height and then raise my arms above my head simultaniously about 15 times with each arm. After I completed this, I had to do about 12 reverse lunges on each leg and then repeated both exercises 2 more times.
I was then instructed to go down and up the stairs 3 times and then when I got upstairs on the third time, I was able to have a drink and rest for a min and then on to the next set of exercises. I had to do walking lunges to the TRX ropes while doing bicep curls with the 5lb dumbells, walk back to where we were normally and then he had a mat on the floor for me. I had to get down on the mat, do 12 pushups, and then down and up the stairs another 3 times.
This time when I got back I had to do the walking lunges again but this time back and forth and then repeated the rest of the exercises. After I got up the stairs after the third time yet again, I repeated the lunges with bicep curls only to the ropes, walked back normally and finished with the pushups. I went down and up the stairs 3 times one more time and by the time I got back upstairs Jeremy had set up another little set of exercises to do.
He had a mat set up in front of one of the big ropes and I had to do the plank first, and then with both hands, had to whip the rope for 45 seconds hard, and then finally a three min sprint on the bike on a level 8. Once again I was asked to go down and up the stairs 3 times and then repeated the plank, rope and bike one more time. When I was finished there, he had moved the mat once again and asked me to do ab crunches and then finally he helped me with one of the stretches that I normally do by myself.
All in all it went really good, we laughed alot throughout the session and talked alot as well. I think it is just what I needed to get myself in the right frame of mind to continue on. With everything that I have been thinking in the last week, and doing in the last week as well, I am very glad for today because it just makes me realize what I am capable of and that I am going to acheive the goals that I have in place.
Tonight I am going to Devon to spend the night with my Aunt Cherilyn. When I get back tomorrow I will probably not be going to the gym however, I will definitely be going for a walk today and tomorrow.
We have not set up a session for next week yet, however, I am going to guess that probably Tuesday or Wednesday we will be doing a session considering my homework isn't that bad. I have been instructed to do 3 hours of higher intensity cardio and 5 min of stretches and core daily. I guess this time I should probably continue on the core everyday regardless. This way I am able to do everything he asks me to do in our sessions without a probelm. LOL
Day 313
Today has been a pretty exceptional day considering the week that I have been having. Pretty much all week I have not wanted to do anything in the way of exercise, and to be quite honest, I haven`t been watching what I have been eating all that good either. However, this morning I was up at 5:15am to get myself ready for a round at the gym before I went to work. I figured that I wouldn`t want to do anything when I got home and I was sure right about that.
I left at 7 am with Jan in the morning, walked over to the gym from the LRT and as soon as I got there I headed upstairs to the ladies only room. It was completely dead in there and I was the only one so I started off doing some weight lifting. I then went over to the eliptical and did 15 min there burning 80 calories. From there I went over to the treadmill and did 15 min here but, I did a walk for a min on a 2.6 speed and then bumped up the speed to a 4.4 and did a jog for a min. I alternated every min with the two and wound up burning 131 calories in another 15 min span.
I decided that I would try to do the bike for the rest of my time and put the tension on a level 4 and carried on for my last 15 min. I burned another 80 calories here and had to leave to go and get ready for work. I walked back over to the LRT with a pitstop at Timmie`s for coffee and carried on my merry little way.
The day went on pretty good at work, I was there for an 8 hour shift today and everything turned out to be pretty good. By the end of the day, I was still in a pretty good mood and headed home with a smile on my face and walked part of the way with Sara.
I do have my session still with Jeremy at 11 am tomorrow and so I am going to be doing my stretches pretty soon here and then heading for bed. I am almost scared to go into the session tomorrow because I really didn`t try too hard this last week and I know that Jeremy will be able to tell. I think my rear end is severely going to be beaten tomorrow and I can honestly say that I am actually quite excited. I guess we will see what happens! :)

Day 311
Alright, not a very good day today, I will admit it. I was feeling frustrated today and not really wanting to continue on with this journey because I feel that I am not getting any better in regards to having reduced pain. I know that it will never go away but, I just hate the fact that every day I am feeling it and I just want it to stop. Somehow I need to deal with it and move on, I just don't know how to do that.
I went to the gym this afternoon for about half an hour. I did 10 min on the eliptical burning 91 calories and then carried over to the treadmill and wound up burning 133 calories there. I didn't really push myself because I wanted to get home and make Jan's birthday cake before she got home so that I could get the icing on it in time for dessert.
Once supper was finished, I still wasn't feeling too happy with myself. Still fairly sore and figured that maybe I should go to the gym again. So, once again, off I went. I went into the ladies only room after talking to Jeremy for a few min and got on the treadmill. I did 15 min there, burned another 88 calories and then went into the main area and did the eliptical for 23 min and burned another 163 calories. Overall, I guess it was an ok calorie burn for the day. I kind of wish that I would have just gone, done my hour and push as hard as I could but, at the same time, I guess nothing is stopping me from doing it tomorrow.
I do have a session with Jeremy on Saturday at 11 as we were unable to do yesterday's session. Maybe I will start feeling a little differently in the next coming week. Who knows?
I have cleanup to do from supper and then I will be doing my stretches and heading off to bed shortly. I am unsure if I am able to go to the gym tomorrow as I work from 10:30 until 7, but I may go in the morning before work, both tomorrow and Friday. I guess since I haven't done much this week in the way of watching what I eat and exercise, I shouldn't be expecting too good of results on Sunday.
Nothing more to say today, not a very positive attitude at the moment.
